Charles Hayward’s Woodworker’s Pocket Book is small enough to literally tuck away in a pocket – but crammed with enough essential and engaging information to justify keeping in your tool chest or shop along with your favorite tools.

Hayward published the book in the late 1940s as a handy compendium and has been republished in different editions. This book is a reprint of the original edition. The range of topics Hayward thought would be useful to have on hand is impressive — everything from recipes for French polish and other finishes to tips to cleaning oil stones; understanding timber terms; useful geometry for woodworking; choosing the correct screw or nail; and converting millimeters to inches.
