Flexcut Scorps

Flexcut Scorps combine the profile of a gouge or V-tool with the comfortable handle of a carving knife. Blades come razor sharp, and are formed from 1095 spring steel for a durable and maintainable edge. The offset of the blade, and the wooden handle provide good control with a pull or push stroke.

Compared to a hook-knife, a Flexcut Scorp has a smaller blade profile. This makes them excellent for detail and texturing. We find scorps useful in situations where the handle of a full size tool or block cutter is in the way. They’re also good for any situation where you would like to use a short, controlled, knife carving stroke to add or shape a feature.

The set of 4 tools comes with a tool roll for storage, and a custom profiled slip-strop, but does not include honing compound.

Flexcut Scorps are available right or left handed. Right handed carvers should choose a right-handed tool to cut with a pull stroke, or a left-handed tool to cut on the push.
