Edenton Bedstead

“This bedstead descended in an Edenton family and is attributed to an unknown craftsman working in that area around 1785. The use of a light mahogany for the major portion of the fluted posts and dogwood for the stop-fluting makes a pleasant contrast.” MESDA. W.54 3/4, Post H.95. This piece is part of the collection at the Museum of Early Decorative Arts (MESDA) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
