A Williamsburg, Virginia original was measured and drawn to make this plan. It is representative of Chippendale’s later work: more straight lines, less carving. Chippendale was quick to adopt new ideas and change his designs to suit changing tastes. This is a design not difficult to reproduce in a small shop. See 67, the Chippendale Arm Chair plan.
