6″ Cabinet Scraper

Of all the hand tools in the modern shop the cabinet scraper is the most mysterious. When sharpened correctly is produces a gossamer shaving and is the final treatment for removing the last blemish from your work. However sharpening them and creating the burr which does the actual cutting is not obvious. Most professional cabinetmakers I know use very few hand tools but always keep a supply of scrapers on hand. 6″ x 3″ hardened steel the edge needs to be honed and then burnished to form the burr.
